The Medusa™ – 2.5” Urchin bait

The Medusa™ is a compact yet aggressive fish-catching bait designed to create maximum underwater movement in a small profile. Built around a 5/8” center ball body and loaded with dozens of flowing appendages, this 2.5” urchin-style bait comes alive with the slightest rod movement, current, or bottom contact.

Whether you’re targeting bass around docks, brush piles, rock, or vegetation, The Medusa’s unique design mimics a variety of forage including crawfish, bluegill fry, gobies, and aquatic insects. The soft tentacles pulse, flare, and undulate naturally, creating a lifelike presentation that triggers reaction strikes from pressured fish.

Features

  • 2.5” overall profile
  • 5/8” center ball body
  • Ultra-active tentacles for constant movement
  • Compact profile with a large visual presence
  • Ideal for clear or stained water
  • Excellent for bass, smallmouth, spotted bass, and multi-species anglers

Recommended Rigging Methods

  • Ned Rig – Thread through the center ball for a compact bottom-hopping presentation.
  • Jig Head – Perfect for dragging, swimming, or vertical presentations.
  • Drop Shot – Nose hook or thread onto a drop shot hook for unmatched action.
  • Jika Rig – Great for fishing heavy cover while maintaining bait movement.
  • Free Rig – Allows The Medusa to glide naturally behind the weight.
  • Carolina Rig – Covers water efficiently while keeping the bait dancing behind the sinker.
  • Texas Rig – Weedless presentation around grass, wood, and docks.
  • Hover Rig/Mid-Strolling – Creates a subtle suspended presentation that showcases the bait’s tentacles.

Best Applications

The Medusa excels around docks, riprap, brush piles, rocky structure, laydowns, and offshore cover. Fish it slowly when conditions are tough or work it aggressively to trigger reaction bites. The unique urchin profile offers something fish rarely see, making it a deadly option when traditional soft plastics stop producing.
